Lancashire Museum Services
This autumn has seen Wynter Productions working alongside Holy Family Catholic Primary School and Our Lady Catholic High School in Preston as they learn about life on the home front during WWII.
This involved Wynter Productions taking their unique style of video production into the classroom to record school groups working alongside WWII eye witnesses.
The children talked with people from Age Concern, Preston about their experiences of the War, when the members were merely children or teenagers themselves.
We created a DVD showing the various stages of the learning process (a 15 minute piece of video content) and another DVD showcasing an exhibition day where all involved were re-united to enjoy a day of celebration, 1940’s style. This gave everyone the opportunity to reflect on the outcomes of this intergenerational project.
The DVD was exhibited at the Museum of Lancashire as part of ‘Their Past, Your Future’ and will now be used as an educational resource.
Taking inspiration from the “Ministry Of Information” and “Pathe” films of the 1940’s era, Wynter Productions provided a stylish but informative appraisal of the whole process. This was delivered in a faux “News Report”, which was in keeping with the era it represents.
